Located between downtown Kankakee and the Greater Kankakee Airport in Illinois, Gar Solar generates 3.1 MW of renewable energy from its 5,184 bifacial solar modules mounted to a single-axis tracking system. Residents in the area who get their power from ComEd can subscribe to this community solar farm and save on their annual electricity expenses while supporting the expansion of renewable energy on the grid. Gar Solar can serve approximately 500 average households.
