Nexamp has been named the “#1 Community Solar Company” for the third year in a row by Solar Power World magazine as part of its annual Top Solar Contractors List. Securing the top spot for a third consecutive year reflects the unwavering commitment of the Nexamp team to developing, financing, deploying, owning, and operating industry-leading solar and storage solutions that drive energy independence, economic growth, and grid resilience.

The Top Solar Contractors List is the most recognized listing of solar contractors in the United States. Compiled annually, it highlights the work of solar installers to add critical generation assets to the grid while advancing decarbonization within the energy mix. Companies on the Top Solar Contractors List are grouped and listed by specific service (developer, electrical subcontractor, EPC, installation subcontractor, installer, sales partner), market (commercial, community solar, residential, utility) and state by 2024 installed capacity.

Nexamp continues to scale its impact, deploying 269 MW of new capacity in 2024—more than double the volume installed just two years earlier. With over 1 GW in construction and operating and several more gigawatts in development, the company is expanding its solar and storage portfolio as well as its geographic reach, with projects spanning from Maine to Hawaii.

“As artificial intelligence systems accelerate across industries, national energy demand is skyrocketing, requiring twice the electricity we currently generate,” said Zaid Ashai, CEO of Nexamp. “To meet this moment, we need energy solutions that are not only clean but also fast and scalable. Community solar is one of the most effective ways to bring new capacity online quickly—right where it's needed. By investing in domestic clean energy infrastructure, we’re strengthening the grid, reducing emissions, and ensuring that the power driving the AI economy is both affordable and renewable for all Americans.”

Nexamp has been a leader and innovator in the community solar sector for nearly two decades, helping to strengthen domestic energy supply while expanding access to solar. The company recognizes the urgency of expanding energy generation and understands the valuable role of distributed solar. By developing essential solar and storage projects nationwide, Nexamp continues to break barriers and create opportunities for a more affordable, renewable future.

“At a time when the federal government is doing everything it can to cut solar power down, the gigawatts put up by our 2025 Top Solar Contractors emphasize just how crucial it is to our nation’s energy mix,” said Kelsey Misbrener, Managing Editor of Solar Power World. “From the smallest residential projects to the largest utility-scale solar farms, these installations are keeping the lights on and keeping power affordable. We’re thrilled to recognize another outstanding class of Top Solar Contractors and look forward to persevering through legislative hurdles to celebrate our 15-year edition next year.”

According to the U.S. Solar Market Insight 2024 Year in Review report from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Wood Mackenzie, the United States installed a record-breaking 50 gigawatts (GW) of new solar capacity in 2024, the largest single year of new capacity added to the grid by any energy technology in over two decades. Solar and storage made up 84% of all new electric generating capacity added to the grid in 2024, underscoring the industry’s pivotal role in America’s clean energy transition. Similarly, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that solar is now providing more than 10 percent of total national energy output.
