For the second consecutive year, Nexamp has been named the “#1 Community Solar Company” by Solar Power World magazine as part of its annual Top Solar Contractors list. This honor underscores the continued growth of Nexamp and its commitment to broadening access to solar benefits through its industry-leading community solar program, helping more individuals, non-profits and businesses save money while increasing renewable energy on the grid.

The Solar Power World list annually celebrates the work of solar companies across the United States. Solar firms in the utility, community solar, commercial, and residential markets are ranked by the number of kilowatts they installed in the previous year. Companies are grouped and listed by specific services, markets, and states.

Nexamp more than doubled its numbers over the previous year, deploying 225 MW during 2023, up from just 106 MW in 2022. Currently boasting more than 1 GW of capacity in operation or under construction, Nexamp continues to expand not only its generating and storage portfolio, but also its geographic footprint with projects from Maine to Hawaii.

“Community solar is at the heart of a profound shift currently underway in the United States towards a more decentralized, renewables-based grid,” said Zaid Ashai, Nexamp’s CEO. “We’re immensely proud to see our integrated approach keep us at the forefront of that transition and, with this recognition, the clear reflection of the effort and dedication of our incredible team members.”

For more than 17 years, Nexamp has been an innovator in the community solar sector, leading with solutions that prioritize equity and accessibility. The company’s mission has always focused on creating a customer-centric culture that delivers impactful results. By developing essential solar and storage projects nationwide, Nexamp continues to break barriers and create opportunities for a greener future.

“Solar projects in every market—residential to utility-scale—are getting bigger and oftentimes more complicated in scope, financing and permitting. That’s why it’s all the more impressive when so many top installation companies have banner years,” said Kelly Pickerel, editor in chief of Solar Power World. “The Top Solar Contractors List is a great gauge for how strong individual companies are in their local markets.”

A recent study by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory found that community solar provides affordable renewable power to a wider audience, including those who live in rentals and multifamily buildings. Nexamp remains committed to making these benefits more accessible to all.
